Within close distance of Oakham, Oundle, Uppingham and Stamford, Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has been in Thomas Noel's family since 1760 and formed part of the adjoining Exton Park, seat of the Earls of Gainsborough.
Formerly a farmhouse and hunting lodge, Barnsdale Lodge was converted by Thomas in 1989, and is lovingly managed by Ed Burrows (Managing Director) and James Bowie (General Manager), outstanding stars of their trade.
We're proud of our awards and recommendations - Barnsdale Lodge was named second place in the Telegraph's "20 Top Places for a Warm Welcome", featured in the Sunday Telegraph's Fifty of Britain's Cosiest Hotels, is a Times Cool Hotel and was also listed in Alex Polizzi's Telegraph top hotels for under £150 feature.
The conservatory overlooks our beautiful landscaped gardens and offers a memorable dining experience - whatever the weather! With its glass ceiling, flagstone floor and exposed stone walls complimented by crisp white table linen, it's a most welcoming place to dine with friends and loved ones.
We love to celebrate British summertime, welcoming back the warmer weather and longer days with al fresco dining in our picturesque courtyard dining area, which is also available for private hire - perfect for family events such as birthdays, weddings, BBQs and informal dining and also for corporate events.
We're very proud to keep the quintessentially English sport of croquet alive with our purpose-built lawn - whilst games may be few and far between, it's the perfectly relaxing view whilst enjoying a cold drink on a hot summer's day and an ideal outdoor space for idyllic group wedding photos.
Our light and elegant garden room gives superb views of the courtyard in all it's glory, and is the ideal place to kick back on our comfortable sofas, relax and enjoy a drink with friends and family.
Our cosy snug is a favourite with guests, a relaxing environment with a 'home from home' feel. Enjoy a pint of cask ale or a glass of wine, or a bite to eat from our delicious bar snacks menu.
We have built up some impressive accreditations over the years...
