Hotel Food & Beverage Supervisor

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has 46 bedrooms along with 17 Rutland Retreats. with various private dining rooms, conference facilities and a banqueting suite to run, Barnsdale can be a very busy place to work.

The role is to support with managing the Restaurant, Banqueting and Conference facilities in the day to day business whilst also supporting management with making strategic improvements to drive service standards and profitability across the department.

To act as a key point of contact and a leader on shift; ensuring all staff are given direction and adequate training; in order to carry out the role to a high standard.

Ideally having Rosette Restaurant experience with a good knowledge and enthusiasm for understanding wine and mixology which can be shared with the team.

Has experience of supervising people and a passion for developing staff and recognising talent and skills within individuals.

This role does involve working early mornings, late nights and weekends across a rota.

The person ideally will have their own transport due to the rural location of the business and working hours as these are often outside of public transport timetables.

The role is 32 hours per week with the possibility of more in busy periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £14,144.00 to £14,476.80 /year

Bar Person

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the bar area including regularly refreshing the service offering in terms of cocktails, drinks promotions, coffee etc.

You will support with team training and development in relation to the bar function.

You will continue to develop your commercial awareness and pro-actively review current trends; ensuring our offers are up to date.

You will also be responsible for stock control; achieving target GP percentages and beer line cleaning along with serving food/drink as required.

This is a physical role where stock/furniture may need to be moved and you may also be working sometimes in tight spaces. The role will involve room set up along with cleaning and supporting the Food and Beverage team.

Commis Chef

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel are currently looking for an experienced Commis Chef to join their dedicated, hard working and professional team.

You will need to have the experience and ability to produce a quality food service throughout the hotel, be creative, deliver good food and personal hygiene practice, take responsibility for Health & Safety and manage storage and stock control.

You will need to be flexible and resilient and be a good team worker.

In return, you will receive training from a dedicated and passionate Executive Head Chef and the team which will help you progress in your career.

The hotel is based in a rural location, therefore own transport is advisable. The role will be working 5 days, across Monday to Sunday.

Senior Chef de Partie

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has 46 Bedrooms along with 17 Rutland Retreats on site. It is a country hotel which is located in a rural location of Rutland.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Chef de Partie.

You will be working under an experienced and capable Executive Head Chef who is a passionate developer of people. This is a great opportunity for someone keen to put a strong foundation into their future career as a chef.

You will need to be hard working, resilient, focused on detail and keen to learn.

There is a possibility that we may be able to support with accommodation for this post short term, otherwise, I would recommend you have your own transport based on the rural location of the hotel and public transport not operating at the required times of the shift patterns.

Kitchen Porter

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a key role; as an experienced Kitchen Porter within Barnsdale Lodge Hotel.

The role involves the cleaning of all food service pots, cooking pots and utensils along with ensuring a thorough cleaning procedure is maintained to meet all required standards. The role is physically demanding with some heavy lifting and working within a tight working environment.

The role will be on a casual contract; however in busy periods, opportunity to work up to full time hours.

The person is preferred to have experience of this type of work; however, if not, must be physically fit to do heavy lifting, able to work under pressure and follow instructions. Must have own transport or ability to attend the role without using public transport; due to the rural location of the hotel and hours required.

Food & Beverage General Assistant

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has 46 bedrooms and 17 retreats, set in the idyllic country side near Rutland Water. The hotel is privately owned and has a country feel.

We are looking for staff to serve within our Restaurant and Banqueting Suite.

If you have a passion to work with people and you would enjoy the hospitality industry, Barnsdale could be for you.

Barnsdale has an excellent staff team that are passionate, professional and fun to work with.

Previous experience would be beneficial, however, not essential as full training can be given.

Particularly looking for staff that can work a breakfast/lunch shift during the week and weekends.

Due to the rural location of the hotel, you will not be able to rely on public transport; therefore you will need your own transport.
