Bar Person

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the bar area including regularly refreshing the service offering in terms of cocktails, drinks promotions, coffee etc.

You will support with team training and development in relation to the bar function.

You will continue to develop your commercial awareness and pro-actively review current trends; ensuring our offers are up to date.

You will also be responsible for stock control; achieving target GP percentages and beer line cleaning along with serving food/drink as required.

This is a physical role where stock/furniture may need to be moved and you may also be working sometimes in tight spaces. The role will involve room set up along with cleaning and supporting the Food and Beverage team.

Hotel Porter

Responsible for supporting the team in giving all of our guests a warm welcome, escorting them to their rooms/retreats and helping with their luggage whilst introducing them to all the facilities.

You will also have responsibility for setting the hotel fires, making up log/kindling packs for the retreats and ensuring all rubbish is collected from the retreats. You will support the Facilities Manager with maintenance around the hotel/retreats. You will have responsibility for public area cleaning and ensuring the areas are clean and clear from rubbish.

This role is a flexible role, meaning that you could be called to work in any department where there is a need, including answering the hotel phone, serving in the restaurant, setting up a function room or supporting in the housekeeping department.

This role can be physically demanding and will involve driving company vehicles (For insurance purposes, the candidate must be aged 25 years and above). The hotel is situated in a rural location and does require the post holder to have his/her own transport due to not only the location but also the potential hours and occasional use of own vehicle for business purposes (Business Insurance will be required/Driving Licence).

The role is part time (32 hours per week), on a temporary contract for up to 6 months (end of March 2019). It will involve working Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and any amendments to that according to the needs of the business.

Senior Head Housekeeper

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has 46 bedrooms and 17 retreats, set in the idyllic country side near Rutland Water. The hotel is privately owned and has a country feel.

As Senior Head Housekeeper, you will make sure that all areas of the hotel and Rutland Retreats are cleaned to a high standard and within 'check in' times. You will guide and train Housekeeping staff in the role; ensuring standards are kept high. You will also be responsible for managing stock, Ordering linen, formulating a staff rota and ad-hearing to Health & Safety/COSHH standards.

You will need excellent communication and customer service skills along with being professional and confidential at all times. You will need to have the ability to work under pressure; and within tight time scales along with excellent organisation and planning skills.

The ideal candidate will have had Housekeeping Management experience previously within a Hotel and the experience of managing staff directly. The post will be 40 hours per week, with a salary of £20,000 + depending on experience starting immediately.

This role at times will require the individual to respect margins and therefore will be involved in hands on cleaning daily.

Restaurant Manager

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has 46 bedrooms, 17 retreats, a large banqueting suite and various private dining and conference rooms. It is set in the countryside near to Rutland Water and the hotel has a country feel.

The Restaurant Manager will manage the Restaurant, Banqueting and Conference facilities in the day to day business whilst also making strategic improvements to drive service standards and profitability across the department. To act as a key point of contact and a leader in the business in the absence of the General Manager and the Operations Manager whilst leading and developing a strong, capable and passionate service team aligned with the goals of the business.

It is essential that you have Rosette Restaurant experience with a good knowledge and enthusiasm for understanding wine and mixology which can be shared with the team. Please evidence this in your application.

Has experience of managing people and a passion for developing staff and recognising talent and skills within individuals.

This role does involve working early mornings, late nights and weekends across a rota.

The person ideally will have their own transport due to the rural location of the business and working hours; as these are often outside of public transport timetables.

General Assistant (Waiter/Waitress)

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel has 46 bedrooms and 17 retreats, set in the idyllic country side near Rutland Water. The hotel is privately owned and has a country feel.

We are looking for staff to serve within our Restaurant and Banqueting Suite.

If you have a passion to work with people and you would enjoy the hospitality industry, Barnsdale could be for you.

Barnsdale has an excellent staff team that are passionate, professional and fun to work with.

Previous experience would be beneficial, however, not essential as full training can be given.

Particularly looking for staff that can work in the evenings during the week and at weekends.

Due to the rural location of the hotel, you will not be able to rely on public transport; therefore you will need your own transport.

Barnsdale Lodge Hotel are looking for Casual Housekeepers/Cleaners to work within our Housekeeping department Monday - Sunday.

The hours could vary according to the needs of the business. The department often operates between the hours of 6am and 5pm, however, most days the hours would be between 8am and 3pm.

The ideal candidate will have good customer service skills, be professional and understand the importance of working to a high standard, ensuring a good eye for detail. Ideally having experience within a similar role, however, full training can be given to someone that has the enthusiasm, commitment and flair to work in the department.

Own transport is advisable and Barnsdale Lodge is within a rural location and public transport is not always available around the working hours.
